FAQ

SHOULD I CHOOSE THE BAR OR CABLE BRAKE?

Our Bar Brake is the most popular option for our customers. It is custom-built and hand-made for a specific vehicle make, model, and year. It also requires less annual maintenance than the Cable Brake. If you infrequently change vehicles then we recommend the Bar Brake. There is also a lower upfront cost as well to the Bar Brake.

Customers typically choose the Cable Brake because it can be installed in virtually any car. If you frequently change vehicles we recommend the Cable Brake. The Cable Brake is also a great option if you require a secondary clutch pedal as well.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE BAR BRAKE AND CABLE BRAKE?

The Bar Brake is made from a single steel rod. It is hand-made and custom-built to fit a specific vehicle make, model, and year.

The Cable Brake, as the name implies, uses a cable system. A base is drilled onto the passenger side of the vehicle. (A base is not needed for the Dual Brake). The cables tend to wear down over time and will eventually need to be replaced.

CAN I TRANSFER MY EXISTING BAR BRAKE OR CABLE BRAKE TO ANOTHER CAR?

Our Bar Brake is custom-built for a specific vehicle make, model, and year. For instance, if you have a Bar Brake in a Toyota Corolla 2021 this cannot be transferred to a Toyota Camry 2021. Give us a call and we'll let you know exactly.

The Cable Brake is universal and can be used in virtually any vehicle make, model, and year. If you already have an existing cable brake and would like to transfer it to a different vehicle, we charge $150 - $200 for this service.
